Interviewing

The first interview should take around 45 minutes. Most first interviews are conducted by one parent and it is a time to sit and talk to the nanny what she has to offer. Click on the link for sample interview questions.

A second interview should be arranged for 2 or 3 nannies that you felt could be right for you. When you plan second interviews, ensure you allow at least a few hours apart for each nanny and make sure the interview is well timed in accordance to your child's routine. Timing of the second interview is important, it will provide you with a good opportunity to observe the interaction between the nanny and your child/children. It is best to avoid times when your child/children are normally hungry or tired. Please allow a minimum of 2 hours for the second interview.

Once you have completed the second interviews and you have come to a decision on offering a nanny the position, then please contact Bluebell Nannies.

Bluebell Nannies will speak to candidates regarding the outcome of an interview, whether it is successful or not. If you have decided to offer a position to a nanny, it is Bluebell Nannies policy for you, the client, to allow the agency to put this information forward to a prospective nanny.

For successful applicants, Bluebell Nannies agency will discuss with you the contract of employment and finalise details between yourself and the nanny. You as the Employer are responsible in giving the nanny a contract of employment. The Contract must be agreed, signed and dated by both the ‘employer' family and the ‘employee' the nanny with signed copy to Bluebell Nannies along with the requisite fee.

Interview notes of all applicants should be kept for a maximum of 6 months and then destroyed. This is in case of a claim against you for race or sex discrimination.
